Project Win - Windana Welcome House
Lloyd Group is ecstatic to be formally notified of its successful tender for the construction of the Windana Drug and Alcohol Welcome House in Maryknoll.
The new Welcome House designed by the very talented team at Vincent Crisp Architects will be a 12-bed facility built within the grounds of the existing Maryknoll Therapeutic Community. This facility will be the nation’s first Welcome House, Windana confidently aims to slash the early exit rates of drug and alcohol dependent individuals by more than half: to 15%. In so doing, the Welcome House should enhance full completion rates from 20% to 40% within the first two years of operation.
Since their beginning in St Kilda in 1984, Windana has delivered alcohol and other drug (AOD) treatment services to people living in and around Melbourne Today, Windana’s outreach touches the lives of more than 1500 clients and their families every year. It is recognised as a leading provider of AOD rehabilitation services working hand in hand with local health service providers in Bayside, Barwon, South East Melbourne, Frankston/Mornington Peninsula, Grampians and Latrobe Valley.
Needless to say that Lloyd cannot wait to successfully deliver this project to the Windana team and allow them to provide the next step of such a much needed program to our community.
Our team’s have recently kicked off works on a number of new projects:
- Cranbourne West Community Centre.
The new facility will include new community halls, kitchen facilities, consulting rooms, administration office facilities, training room, amenities, and a range of versatile indoor and outdoor community meeting spaces. The project has a strong emphasis on ecologically sustainable development and will showcase some of latest technologies in order to minimise energy consumption and deliver a responsible built outcome for the community.
- Concord School
The $4M project for the Department of Education has been designed by Law Architects and involves the construction of a double storey building housing food technology rooms, general learning areas, canteen and staff facilities.
- Ringwood Secondary College
Stage 2 of the project involves The $5M dollar project involves demolition of the existing senior school, to be replaced by a two-level brand new learning facility.Features of the building include Glazed Brick Veneer, expressed joint FC façade and a tensile wire vertical garden.
Increase to Construction Supply Register Pre-Qualification Limit
Lloyd Group has recently been issued with an increase to the prequalification limit for construction projects with the Victorian Government under the Construction Supply Register (CSR). Lloyd Group’s limit has been increased to $25 million per project.
Peninsula Hot Springs Wins at the Master Builders Association of Victoria Awards
Congratulations to our Peninsula Hot Springs project team on taking home a 2019 Master Builders Award on Friday night! The project was recognised with an Excellence in Commercial Construction Award in the $3-5 million category, a category which attracts the highest number of entrants with around 8 other contenders.
This achievement is fantastic recognition of our team’s effort in delivering a very challenging and highly bespoke architectural project.
The Hot Springs award marks the 7th year running we have been recognized at the MBAV Excellence in Construction Awards.

New Project - Jack Thomas Sports Pavilion Redevelopment
Cr Geoff Ablett (Mayor of the City of Casey), Luke Donnellan MP and representatives of the Berwick City Soccer Club turned the first sod on site today at our newest project, the Jack Thomas Sports Pavilion Redevelopment in Narre Warren North. Lloyd Group is excited to be working on the redevelopment which will see brand new facilities for the growing local community and one of Victoria’s biggest soccer clubs.
Landcare Week 2018
For the second year running, a group of Lloyd Group staff participated a volunteer day with Landcare Australia and Friends of Royal Park as part of Landcare Week 2018. The team spent the day at Royal Park, assisting with planting indigenous trees, shrubs and grasses and learning about the native plants and wildlife.

Master Builders Awards 2018
It was another successful year for Lloyd Group at the 2018 Master Builders Association of Victoria Excellence in Construction Awards. With a total of five finalists shortlisted, we took home the award for Excellence in Civil Construction for Stage 2 of the Melbourne Zoo Predator Precinct Project. This award makes it five consecutive years that Lloyd Group has had a winning project at the Master Builders Awards, and the second of our projects for Melbourne Zoo to be recognised by the MBAV. Lloyd Group have recently completed Homestead 6 at Woodleigh School. The school’s newest homestead is the second stage of works completed by Lloyd Group for the school. The team was more than happy to be back on the school grounds, building yet another beautiful building designed by Law Architects. Master Builder Awards 2016
We’re thrilled to announce that Lloyd Group received two awards at the Master Builder Excellence in Construction Awards ceremony on Friday 12th August. The Eastern Innovation Business Centre in Mulgrave provides a highly innovative and sustainable building to facilitate, inspired and grow small businesses, with a focus on science, technology and research-based operations. The project was awarded the Excellence in Construction of Commercial Buildings $3M – $5M The Penguins Plus Boardwalk in Phillip Island received the Excellence in Civil Construction. The new platform mirrors the coves of Phillip Island’s spectacular southern coastline and offers visitors unprecedented, up-close viewing of the penguins as they make their way along the most popular penguin pathway. This great achievement is testament to the hard work and dedication shown by the team at Lloyd Group and we are honoured to have two projects recognised by Master Builders Victoria.
MBAV Award 2014
On Friday 8th August we received an MBAV award for Construction Excellence on the Lemur Island project completed at Melbourne Zoo in 2013. The award is an enormous milestone for our company and recognition of the hard work we have all put in to develop the professional, high quality & customer focused culture we have today.
Well done to Andrew Sale & Carl Suen for their efforts delivering this project under challenging time constraints. We look forward to many future awards in the years ahead!! Melbourne Zoo have also recognised this award with an article published on the Zoos Victoria website.
Insight Education Centre for the blind & vision imparied now complete
Lloyd Group have successfully completed the Insight Education Centre for the Blind & Vision Impaired in Berwick, Victoria. The innovative new school has been designed by Harmer Architects to address the specific needs of vision impaired students whilst maximising the opportunities for students to learn and develop within a dedicated environment. Innovations including a corridor tactile wall to assist with identifying amenities and raised aluminium skirting to full height windows to assist when walking with a vision aid have been incorporated into the project is just one way technology can help to easy the life of impaired people as gadgets help people everyday. The building is Stage 1 of a 5 stage master plan to provide start of the art educational facilities for the blind & vision impaired. Images of this recently completed project will be uploaded to our website shorty, in the meantime we take this opportunity to thank the people at Insight Education for the opportunity to be involved in this exciting community infrastructure facility. We also congratulate our project team Glenn Crowhurst, Daniel Murray & Matt Cheng for their efforts in successfully completing this project.
